Rise in Christianity

As stated before before it was said by the people that the fall of Rome has to do with many different reasons. It was said that the rise in Christianity was one of the reasons for the fall of Rome. Monotheism was the main religion in the Roman Empire before Christianity. Monotheism thrived through out the empire until it completely became obsolete to the entire empire. Christianity began as a small religion that barley anyone knew of. But then it started spreading and spreading across the world and became the official religion of the Roman Empire. Due to this religion they opened more churches and priests were well respected. But this religion said to the citizens that they can only believe in one God and one God only, no one else. So the people of the Roman Empire began to do this and payed no respect to the emperor. They thought of the emperor of  not a god and they emperor eventually lost more and more power. Due to this the empire was split into two sides the Western and the Eastern empires. Both sides were ruled by a different emperor. One side ruled by Constantine and the other ruled by Licinius. Constantine decided to overthrow Licinius side and he took over and ruled both halves. Some say that this lead to the fall of Rome that the ruler couldn't gain power over everyone and the Roman Empire just eventually fell.
This represents the spread of Christianity through out the world.

This represents the start of Christianity in the roman empire.

This is a representation of the spiting of the two empires .

  1. I like how you connected Christianity to other problems, such as the split of the empire. The analysis is what really makes this good. However, I noticed that you used Monotheism and I think you meant Polytheism. Polytheism is many gods, and monotheism is one god. You also have your title listed twice. Overall though, I enjoyed the paragraph.

  2. Mark 12:16. Christianity always taught to respect the person in office, as they were put there or established by God, for a purpose. Jesus first called them hypocrites, and then asked one of them to produce a Roman coin that would be suitable for paying Caesar's tax. ... They answered, "Caesar's," and he responded: "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."
